We are the Parish Council in Askham Bryan, York.

We have recently purchased an area of land in the village which was previously rented from Askham Bryan College and have an ongoing project to turn it, from a children’s playground which is much in need of renovation, into a community space to the benefit of all our village residents.

After a very difficult year we would like to bring the whole community together providing facilities for all ages.   Play equipment for children, a bug hotel,  a community garden, petanque or similar for adults and a bar-be-que with seating for village wide social occasions.

Our initial action is to make the area safe doing tree maintenance and safety aspects, including access to the recreation area from the centre of the village. 

A grant would enable us to progress the development and provide additional planting in the area.
